The Mental Giant Mike Peace . . .
Born the illigitimate son of Richard Nixon and a Washington D.C. lounge singer, Mike Peace, whose real name is. . . Rufus Eugene Grady Johnston, has always had the gift of gab which he attributes to his biological father.
After receiving his doctorate from M.I.T., in nuclear physics, Peace felt that, career wise, he needed something to fall back on, so he taught himself to play the recorder. He then worked as a studio musician for a number of years, eventually landing a gig as the musical director for Vanilla Ice's touring band. The entire time he was on the tour he felt that he had more to say and that the whole world needed to hear it. Finally Mike left the tour and started writing greeting card inserts for a small company named Hallmark. After a few months he decided to take a couple of job offers as a ghostwriter for MC Hammer and Milli Vanilli.
Still not satisfied with what he was doing musically, Peace started performing at open mics around the country. While in Virginia he was spotted at SoulCafe, an open mic for poets, by a struggling local band named Seed Is . . . Desperately in need of a new element they begged him to front the band, however he turned them down several times before agreeing to join.
Once the two women in the band were able to overcome their insatiable lust for Peace, Seed Is . . . created a unique and powerful sound that is entirely based around the words of Mike Peace.
